Painted from the small bedroom of former home at Shuttle Close and motivated by others who had chosen the same subject. 

It challenged one’s sense of observation avoiding he temptation to use  black and to ensure rendering of the colours as seen and attracted by.  Hence the branches are in purple, pink and blue – long before Hockney
